I have received overnight a SMS seeming to come from DGT reminding me of one day to pay a parking fine 35€ by card. I am not aware of illegal parking anywhere and have received no hard copy.
I am suspicious of this SMS feeling it is a scam to get my card details.
further I find the web address it redirects to as suspicious "http://srv214732.hoster-test.ru/DGT/in.php"

What does the team think ?

Hi Lyric,
It's a known way to scam, Mrs E got caught out the other week with txt from Correos.

I don’t think DGT normally issue parking fines. Its a local council responsibility policed by traffic wardens or at worst local police. Definitely check it out.

Link you posted is from a non-secure site in Russia.

It is listed on a Scam site as current bad actor...............

The way it works ...... you pay the requested amount with a card and they then have your details and will use it the same day for a larger amount.

Mrs E's txt was very clever , It asked for postage for an amazon order , they had all the correct details of the order , postage was low amount, paid with CC and later the card was used in Barcelona for 700euro , The Bank picked this up and stopped Card....

So take your time answering any email /txt and if possible run it past your OH.

The ".ru" was one of the reasons I chose to ignore.
As a rule of thumb I treat with the greatest suspicion anything unsolicited asking for my card details.

99% sure it's a scam, just don't pay it! and send the message details to D V L C, they have a fraud section dedicated to this!

Why do you think the DVLC would have any interest in a Spanish driving licence holder getting a Spanish parking ticket even if it is a scam?

Who are DVLC? if you mean DVLA then agree with costakid & el cid - they would not be interested in foreign scams (and not really in UK ones!)

Seems that Correos want me to stump up for delivery of a parcel too, same web site, blocked the number.
