Gibraltar has a wide range of accommodation on offer from luxury
hotels to tourist hotels to self-catering to youth hostels. Gibraltar's
most famous hotel is The Rock Hotel. It was opened on the 1st February
1932 and has an unrivalled position overlooking the Bay of Gibraltar.
Amongst its distinguished guests have been Errol Flynn, Alec Guinness,
Andre Segovia, Sir Winston Churchill and Noel Coward.
Youth hostels in Gibraltar receive rather iffy reviews from
backpackers who sometimes feel they are a bit pricey. Some have
recommended staying in La Linea and crossing the border to spend
days in Gibraltar. However, for those interested in a truly rocking
overnight experience at - please pardon the pun - rock-bottom prices,
