Mazagón

Mazagón

With some of the quietest, uninhabited and tranquil beaches in Andalucia, Mazagón is still very much an undiscovered, hidden treasure. Located next to the Doñana National Park, this area of exquisite natural beauty boasts large, sandy beaches and clear blue waters.

The Parque Nacional de Doñana is one of Europe's most important wetland reserves and a major site for migrating birds. It is an immense area; the parque itself and surrounding parque natural or Entorno de Doñana (a protected buffer zone) amount to over 1,300 sq km in the provinces of Huelva, Sevilla and Cádiz.

The most outstanding feature of this hotel is its location right inside the Doñana Natural Park, which is the protected area surrounding the Doñana National Park. It is perched on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The  Parador at Mazagón in Huelva province also has a very nice swimming pool with views out over the sea and many rooms have good sea views from their balconies.

While perching on a cliff, there is access to the vast stretches of unspoiled beaches below.

The beaches on the coast in the municipality of the inland town of Moguer are actually closer to Mazagon and the famous Doñana Natural Park. This 100-metre wide beach gets its name from the Parador Hotel located here. Playa del Parador is located just a few kilometers from Mazagón along the A494 road but feels like a different world.

Mazagón is a town in the municipality of Palos de la Frontera. This long beach spans 5.5 kilometres next to the town of Mazagon and borders Doñana natural park. The most urban part of the beach to the west of the town and closest to the marina has all facilities including: showers, beaches, lifeguards, parking, parasols and sunbeds for hire, beach cafés and parking.

Mazagón is a low-level resort with a choice of excellent beaches, and is less developed than the next seaside town, Matalascañas. One of Mazagón's best beaches is situated 6km east of Matalascañas, by the Parador Cristóbal Colón. Unusually for this stretch of coast, where beaches are generally more open and exposed, this beach is backed by sandstone cliffs.

Hotel Albaida Nature is just a short walk from Mazagón Beach, on the unspoilt Costa de la Luz. The hotel has an outdoor pool, chill-out terrace and zen garden.

Rooms at the Albaida Nature have air conditioning and free Wi-Fi access. They include a private bathroom and a TV.
