SO/ Sotogrande Resort and Spa (former NH Almenara Sotogrande)
Robert Kmita will be the General Manager of this hotel (anounced 26-11-2020) to open in July 2021. Managed by SO/ Hotels and Resorts (formerly Sofitel) is the most avant-garde brand in Accor’s luxury portfolio, this being the first SO/ property in Spain. The former Amenara Hotel was part of the NH group who used to own the Sotogrande estate. It had been closed for refurbishment since late 2018. ‘SO/ Sotogrande Resort and Spa will reflect the brand’s rebellious luxury’. Hotel comprises 151 rooms and 24 suites, large outdoor pool, extensive landscaped gardens, and adjoining Spa. It is adjacent to Almenara Golf Club House.

Historical note

Until 2019 the hotel was the former NH Almenara hotel in Sotogrande, a complex of low-rise, traditional, Andalucian-style cottages on a private estate with 46,000 square meters of lush gardens and a 27-hole golf course. The name originated from the views to the Almenara Mountains. The hotel closed in 2019.
