Designated a Unesco Biosphere reserve in 1977, the Sierra de Grazalema was declared the first natural park in Andalucia in 1984 and is one of Spain's most ecologically outstanding areas. The 51,695 ha park is famous for its spectacularly rugged limestone landscape of cliffs, gullies, caves and gorges.

Montejaque - the heart of Pueblos Blancos Music Festival, where the artists call home for the weekend and where the locals spill into the town square to feel the music. It's the place to be on Sunday evening, the final night of the fiesta.

The seventh edition of the grass roots Pueblos Blancos Music Festival returns to the Serrania de Ronda Thursday 25th through Sunday 28th July 2024.

Pueblos Blancos Music Festival held first edition in 2016, returned to Ronda and the Serrania on last weekend in July 2022 after an absence in 2020 and 2021. It is held over four days in four different Serrania villages. Ronda, Montejaque, Grazalema, Villaluenga del Rosario

As in all the pueblos blancos, Montejaque dates from the time of the Berber settlers, after the Moslem conquest. Located in a semi-hidden bowl hidden by circular rocky outcrops, it overlooks a small fertile valley of olive groves.
