Golf Apartment and Golf Villa Rentals

Andalucia is an excellent destination for a golfing break or holiday, with over 70 golf courses in the region, half of which are on the Costa del Sol. And more courses are appearing every year, especially links ones, as this sport constantly increases in popularity. An ideal combination of the mild climate, with year-round fine weather and sunshine, and beautiful locations, whether seaside or inland, makes Andalucia the favourite golfing holiday destination for many people. In fact, the Costa del Sol is the most popular golf destination for European golfers, and is increasingly known as the Costa del Golf. It boasts a staggering 40 courses within 100 km, many of which are in and around the glamorous resort of Marbella. Other areas of Andalucia which are well supplied with golf courses are the Costa de la Luz and the Costa Almeria.

Many people who come to Andalucia for a golfing holiday prefer to rent accommodation which is on or near the golf course, to minimise transport hassle when you set off from your apartment or villa for a round of golf. You may even be able to rent a golf buggy to take you directly to the course, saving you even more time. And, of course, having your accommodation next to the golf course means you can make the most of the stunning, peaceful views of the beautifully maintained lush green fairways and, if you're on a links course, of the sea.

There's a huge range of self-catering rental apartments and villas to cater for this growing market. In these pages you'll find companies who can organise everything from transport, car hire and accommodation to discounted green fees and lessons.

The accommodation is of a very high standard, with all the facilities you'd expect, considering their prime location. Villas and apartments are usually in complexes or residential developments next to the course. There's usually a clubhouse close at hand, with a shop selling the latest high-tech equipment, fashions and accessories, golf pros on hand, a bar and everything you need for a great golfing holiday.

Facilities which your accommodation might include are a swimming pool, whether indoor, outdoor or both; tennis courts and gym, equally useful whether you want to burn some serious calories or take a little gentle exercise; afterwards, let your muscles relax and be soothed in the sauna or Jacuzzi; then take time out to relax in the gardens. If you want a change from eating at home in your comfortable, well-appointed apartment or villa, often with its own balcony, terrace or garden, there is always a wide range of bars and restaurants to choose from nearby. For shopping, whether groceries, fashions or golfing accessories, you'll find everything you need close at hand. And if your course is on the coast, chances are there'll be a beach not far away too.

In terms of the accommodation itself, apartments and villas are nearly always fitted with air conditioning, essential in the hot summer months from June to September. Most accommodation will be tastefully furnished and have satellite TV and a well-equipped kitchen fitted to the highest standards with dishwasher and washing machine. In terms of security, some apartments also have burglar alarms and safe boxes, as well as a underground parking and a 24-hour porter service, very useful for finding out information about the local area, as well as if you lose your keys and can't get back in!
