Medical Interpreter Service

At the beginning of 2007 the Andalucian Regional Health services began to offer a special interpreter service via mobile telephone. The service works by providing administrative staff and doctors with mobile telephones that connect them with a call centre staffed by interpreters.

Palacio Episcopal / Bishops Palace

The Palacio Episcopal houses a small collection of religious paintings and effigies. A permanent exhibition called "Ars Sacra" is part of the patromony of the Malaga province dioceses and has been collected from a number of churches.

Puente de Lata

The bridge was formerly located in the town of Gor and was built at the beginning of the 20th century to carry the railway line between Guadix and Baza. Following a series of failures, a smaller bridge was built and the original bridge fell into disuse. TEGSA, the company building the tram line from Granada to Dúrcal, decided to purchase the superstructure of the bridge.

Plaza de las Flores

Plaza de las Flores has had a number of names over the years, beginning as Plaza Real, it became in turn Plaza de la Constitución, Plaza de José Antonio and finally (at least for now), Plaza de Las Flores. They were great times for the makers of street signs. Somewhere along the way it was also known briefly as Plaza de Abastos (Provisions Square), where the markets alternated with bullfights.

La Térmica

Ermita de la Trinidad

The construction of this hermitage dates back to the beginning of the eighteenth century. It was built on an old lazaretto where the sick from the cholera epidemics that hit Andalusia at the beginning of the century were isolated.

Ceuta See & Do - Califate Gate

The door was meant to be the access for the walls that Abderraman III built after Ceuta was conquered in 1931, In order to close the isthmus area of the city itself. The "califa" nickname was given because the door belongs to the Caliphate of Córdoba period. The Caliphal Gate and its site that belonged during the Roman Era to the industrial area are part of a time line that takes us to the past thanks to its good state of preservation and to the excellent works carried out.

Nueva Andalucia district of Marbella

Nueva Andalucía is the largest neighbourhood in Marbella, extending over several square kilometres. It has an official census population of about 15,000 but considerably more residents in the summer. It was created by Madrid developer José Banús Mas, who came to Marbella in 1962 and acquired the land. Construction of Puerto Banús began in 1965, it was inaugurated in 1968, and the main infrastructure of Nueva Andalucía was installed shortly afterward. The area continued to grow until 1989 - and again in the 2000s.
