As May arrives in Málaga, the city prepares for two important dates on the cultural calendar: La Noche en Blanco (The White Night) and International Museum Day.
This year, many of the city’s cultural institutions, including the world renowned Museo Picasso Málaga, are opening their doors for free, to celebrate both La Noche en Blanco on Saturday 16 May, and International Museum Day on Monday 18 May.

International Museum Day
The celebrations don't stop on Saturday. On Monday, 18th May, Málaga joins the global museum community for International Museum Day. Established in 1977, this day highlights the importance of museums as institutions for cultural exchange and peace. The 2026 theme is ‘Museums Uniting a Divided World’, emphasising how art acts as a common ground between social and geopolitical divides, creating inclusion.
