Dolmen Prehistórico
This is a burial site located next to the shore of the Bermejales reservoir. After a drop in the reservoir’s water level in the mid-twentieth century, several megalithic tombs began to appear scattered throughout the area. Almost twenty burials were discovered, of which only about half remain today. The tomb shown in the photographs, number 7, was moved from its original location and reconstructed stone by stone to prevent it from being submerged under the reservoir's waters. It is made up of orthostats and is surrounded by a circle of stones with an earthen mound.
The structure is approximately ten metres long, two metres wide and almost two metres high. The structure consists of three spaces: one outside the entrance, the corridor itself, which is delimited by the two doorways within the enclosure, and finally the burial chamber. The human remains and grave goods found in this dolmen were in a poor state of preservation due to degradation caused by the waters that covered it.
It is located east of the village.
