Cabra is part of the Sierras de Subbéticas Natural Park, which makes this area ideal for "active tourism" and adventure tourism. In fact, the highest point in the Sierra de Cabra mountain range has been designated an official view point and is known by many as "Andalucia's Balcony".
The Via Verde de la Subbética railway path also passes Cabra along the old railway line between Puente Genil and Jaen.
Fuente del Rio is the source of the Cabra River and is a peaceful place to visit in the countryside.
The Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Sierra, the town´s patron saint, lies at the top of El Picacho, some 1,200 meters above sea level. The small chapel is a medieval construction but was rebuilt in the sixteenth century. It is here that the famous National Gypsy Pilgrimage traditionally takes place on the third Sunday of June.
