Isla Canela golf

Isla Canela is a natural island, which is connected by a bridge to Ayamonte. It is situated at the mouth of the river Guadiara on the border with Portugal. There are magnificent sea views taking in the coastal marshland and Atlantic Ocean.

The flat course is easy to walk around without the need for a buggy. It has been designed so the natural sand dunes give shape to the narrow fairways, while the strategically placed palms trees, as well as the eucalyptus and olives, can cause some difficulties.

Costa Esuri (East) Golf Club

The marshlands of this area bordering Portugal have been well integrated into the second 18-hole course at Costa Esuri, giving it added difficulty but providing a magnificent setting with views of the town of Ayamonte and towards the Atlantic Ocean. Slightly shorter, though somewhat more technical than the West Course, one of the main challenges here for all players lies in the sloping greens and dog-leg fairways.

Benalup Golf

Benalup Golf and Country Club is a golf experience with a difference. Belgian-owned and run, it is attached to the Fairplay Golf Hotel, a new stunning 5-star hotel. Rooms are only available on an all-inclusive basis. The nightly cost includes all food and drink and a round of golf. However, golf can be booked separately, but only as a package that includes lunch and drinks either before or after a round - an unusual innovation.

Costa Ballena Club de Golf, Chipiona

Costa Ballena is a relatively unknown golf complex situated between the towns of Sanlucar and Puerto de Santa Maria, tucked away by the beach and so easily accessed from Jerez de la Frontera and Cadiz. It has 27 holes of golf laid out in three nines with each nine quite different and distinctive. In addition, there is a nine-hole par-3 practice course, a massive practice driving range (over 300 yards wide that can accommodate 120 people at once) plus other areas for chipping and putting practice.

Club Lomas de Sancti Petri Golf

This modern course was designed by champion golfer Manuel Pinero, and is situated slightly inland between the Costa de la Luz coast and the Atlantic. It is close to the village of Chiclana and the Sancti Petri port complete with sailing boats. The greens and fairways are wide, and gently undulating. However, testing conditions are supplied from the water and sand hazards. The course is set among tropical gardens, numerous cork trees and fragrant pine forests.

Alcaidesa Heathland Golf Course

To complement the original links course, Heathland is another spectacular option for players at Alcaidesa. Designed by Dave Thomas and opened in 2007, it has wide open fairways and is reasonably flat all the way round, apart from the 11th which is laid out over differing levels.

Real Club Pineda, Seville

Pineda is just 400 metres from the Betis Football Club Stadium in Sevilla. From there take Su Eminencia road.

Las Minas Golf course

This course was formerly called La Rocina, it is close to the beautiful Doñana nature park and Seville. Raised greens well protected by bunkers are significant features on this 9-hole course designed by Antonio García Garrido. Water comes into play on most of the holes. Laid out over a flat terrain among olive and orange trees, many of the holes are long and fairly difficult par-5s, but the greens are generous. There are four strategically positioned lakes.
