Flamenco Festival Trocadero 2021

Some of the most celebrated names from the world of flamenco will come together at the Flamenco Festival Trocadero in Sotogrande in summer 2021. The first edition of the festival, which will present a series of concerts in the plush surroundings of the popular Trocadero Beach Club and Restaurant, will begin on Saturday 15 May and continue until Friday 27 August.

At the western end of Malaga´s Costa del Sol, but actually within the municipality of San Roque in Cadiz Province, is Sotogrande, one of the most luxurious sports and residential developments in Europe. Sotogrande is home to the world famous Valderrama course, host to the Volvo Masters and Ryder Cup. This is also home to the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, which was founded in 1964 and designed by Robert Trent Jones.

Ayala Polo Club

Ayala Polo Club was founded in 1960s shortly after 1964 when Enrique Zóbel, nephew of Joseph McMicking (founder of Sotogrande), build Sotogrande's first polo ground, known as the ‘Playa’ field, located between what is today Sotogrande’s Real Golf Club and the beach. This field was distroyed by winter storms. His son Iñigo Zóbel, after the formation of Ayala Polo Club, continues the polo project.

Dos Lunas Polo Club

Club de Polo Dos Lunas is a polo club located in in San Martín del Tesorillo near Sotogrande specializing in dressage and polo. It focuses its activity on preparing horses for top-level competition. It has its own polo fields with 34 boxes available for two teams during the summer Polo season or for practice time in winter season.

Tourist Office

Tourist office officially called 'Punto de Información Turística en Puerto Sotogrande' run by San Roque town hall is conveniently located at the entrance to Marina. Open Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 14.00 hrs from 1st July to 15th September.

Sotogrande - La Reserva

La Reserva is the name of the most recent section of the Sotogrande development, including a sixth golf course to be developed under the brand La Reserva Sotogrande. It is located in the Sotogrande Alto, or 'high' mountain side of the coast road, and to the east of the A-2100 road to Castellar.

The initial development of this area began post-2000, including the relocation of the Sotogrande School and the La Reserva Golf Course and Club House, including the front line of villas accompanying the course.

Located in the La Reserva area of Sotogrande Alta near the La Reserva Golf Club House,  the Beach Club  features a unique artificial 2.800 m2 beach and  sandy based artificial lagoon,  combined with a 17.000 m2 water-sport lagoon set in a natural hollow in Sotogrande hillside.

Polo originates from ancient Persia from the sixth century BC to the first century AD. During the fifteenth and sixteenth century, the game was eventually passed from Persia to other parts of Asia, particularly India, Pakistan and China.
