Embalse de Malpasillo Natural Area

The 512ha Malpasillo reservoir and environs is worth a visit for its birdlife, especially in winter when there are more waterfowl.

Access
Take the road to Badolatosa off the A379 road that joins the A92 and Puente Genil. From Badolatosa take the SE766 towards La Roda.

Flora
Reedmace, reeds, rushes and bulrushes grow on the reservoir shores.

Fauna
The abundant vegetation on the shores is ideal for nesting birds. During the winter months there are great comorants and many aquatic birds, such as white-headed ducks, mallards, pochards, gadwalls, wigeons and teals. Also here are peregrines, kestrels, marsh harriers and Cetti's warblers.
