Paterna del Río

Paterna del Río is the home of the unique recreational areas of Fuente Agria and Guarros, also known as the Baños de Santiago, the thermal waters of which are said to be particularly effective on skin complaints. It has about 370 inhabitants. The name of Paterna seems originate to in Paternum or Paternus, although the remains of Iberian swords found in the Gaviarra mines cast doubt on this assumption.

Niebla

The village of Niebla is located roughly 30km to the southeast of Huelva city and 60km from Seville on the shores of the río Tinto. It is located on plain land. With a population of roughly 4000 inhabitants, its relatively small number of inhabitants does not reflect the amount of beauty and archaeological heritage.

Guitars

The guitar and Spain go together like hand and glove. In fact, Spain was the birthplace of the modern six-string guitar, it being based upon a similar Islamic stringed instrument. The guitar is the multi-voiced accompaniment of choice in the art of flamenco and it adds so much to the emotion and spectacle that fuels this passionate gypsy music.

Frequency: two trains daily Stops: Taragona, Lleida, Zaragoza, Cordoba, Puente Genil, Antequera. The AVE route runs on the Barcelona to Madrid section opened in February 2008, the  Madrid to Córdoba section opened in April 1992, and the Córdoba to Málaga section opened on 24 December 2007. The older section has a maximum speed of 270 km/h and the newer sections 300 km/h.

Enix

One of the most distinctive features of Enix is the abdunance of water features in its municipal centre. It has also managed to preserve the traditional narrow, tiered streets and white facades left over from the Muslim occupation. The town has around 420 inhabitants.

Iglesia de la Anunciación

The Iglesia de la Anunciación was built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, featuring a wide nave, a Baroque dome, and a three-storey tower. Inside, restored Baroque paintings were uncovered in 2005.

Pedrera

Pedrera hosts one of Seville's most important carnivals. The special entierro de la sardina (burying of the sardine) is a pilgrimage towards the Cruz Sierra. The town has about 5,300 inhabitants.

Desert Springs Golf Club

Europe’s first desert course was designed by Peter McEvoy in true Arizona style with about half the grass areas normally found on other courses. There is an abundance of cactus, springs, rocks, water hazards and dry river beds and while the terrain is fairly flat there are many sandstone outcrops.

Hornachuelos

Hornachuelos is located on the Ruta de los Castillos, highlighted by the remains of its Arab fortress. The town is a destination that is especially appropriate for rural tourism devotees, with the Sierra de Hornachuelos Natural Park offering magnificent enclaves for game hunting, hiking, cycling or horse riding. It has about 4,500 inhabitants.

Paterna del Campo

Paterna del Campo is situated east of the Comarca El Condado. An agricultural village surrounded by worked land and neighbouring Escacena del Campo. It has about 3500 inhabitants.

Popular festivals in Cortes y Graena are San Lorenzo, San Torcuato, San Antonio de Padua and San Marcos.

El Altiplano de Granada

In the northern part of the Province of Granada is a vast plateau of flatlands surrounded by the highest peaks of the Bética Mountain Range reaching as high as the Sierra de la Sagre at a height of 2,381 meters. The overall plateau region is known as 'El Altiplano de Granada' and is a land of contrasts.
