On the Ruta del Sol y del Vino, Algarrobo is divided into two parts, one inland and the other coastal, located 3 km away from each other. The inland urban town is usually referred to as "Algarrobo Pueblo", and the coastal town "Algarrobo Costa". It is named after the algarrobo (carob) tree, with long, dark (when ripe) pods; carob is used as a sweetener.
It is believed that construction of this church began around the eighteenth century, and it is unknown when the works were completed. The temple has a cross plan, with three vaults and two doors, the main one, and another on the side called Puerta de los Perdones. After the Spanish Civil War it underwent reformation as it had been partially destroyed. Located in Plaza Dr. Jose Muriana Galindo.
Benalmadena Exhibition Centre
The minimalist brick construction designed by Angle Cañizares and Raúl Gante, is evocative of the walls of Nazareth. The Moorish theme to the building is also reflected in the main entrance and exit doors.
