Abrigo de la Colmena y Abrigos del Maimón

The Colmenas shelter was located in the western area of the southern slope of the Maimón Chico, less than 2km from Vélez-Blanco. It consists of three caves, of which only the largest contains cave paintings, distributed in two areas of it, one to the right of its wall and another towards the center of it, reaching a total of ten representations. Under the name of Abrigos del Maimón, there are nine painted shelters; Yedra, Letreros, Letreros Inferior, Molinos I, Molinos II, Panal, Hoyos I, Hoyos II and Covachas, of diverse figurative content, which respond to the so-called schematic art cycle.

Genalguacil - Encuentros de Arte 2010

A bi-annual event during the first two weeks in August on even years there is an art festival in Genalguacil called "Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal", and prize-winning works of art are created by 'Artists in residence' and placed on permanent public display throughout the village afterwards. History of El Burgo

For reasons lost to history, it was probably abandoned by the time Roman settlers arrived in the first century BC; few settlements larger than small pueblos flourished in these harsh conditions. The Romans probably built a (now lost) bridge across the Rí­o Turón here to serve their road from Ronda to Malaga, and used it as a trading base and staging camp on to Ronda and elsewhere.

El Castillejo is a settlement that was mainly occupied in the Almohad period of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Remains were found of Muslim walls belonging to a border defense system with a solid tower.

Bijou Banus

Bijou Banus is located on the second line a few doors along from Linekers. Opened in march 2016, it is part of the same group. Bijous Banus has a large open terrace with full waiter /waitress service. Bijou Banus has a resident DJ, bringing the up to the minute tunes. The club also has invited celebrity DJs.

History of Pampaneira

Pampaneira's history is similar to that of other towns in Granada's Alpujarra region. Due to its geographical isolation, the area developed its own distinctive characteristics, reaching its moment of greatest splendour during the Arab-Andalusian period when it was an important agricultural centre specialising in silk production.

Work Permits and Visas

Toro de Osborne

The Osborne Bull advertising structure for the Spanish wine and food producer is one of twenty copies, which were built and erected between 1957 and the late 1970s. In general, they respond to an evolved layout based on an original drawing by designer Manuel Prieto Benítez (1912-1991), with changes that seek to adapt them to the construction system and process.

New Flamenco - Tomatito

Much-loved stars of the nuevo flamenco underground, formed in the mid-1970s in Málaga when bands like this had to go underground, Tabletom might best be described as Spain’s answer to Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Mixing flamenco with jazz, blues and rock, with a philosophy borrowed from anarchism and the left, they are stalwarts of the Andaluz alternative scene. By their own admission, influences can vary from Miles Davis to English progressive rock bands such as Van der Graaf Generator.

Punta Umbria Beaches

Punta Umbria is the largest seaside town along the Huelva Costa de la Luz. It's busy with beachgoers from Sevilla and Huelva city in the summer, when there is a vibrant nightlife with loads of late-night bars and clubs to choose from when the sun goes down.

Isla Cristina Beaches - Playa de la Redondela

La Redondela Beach is located about 2 km north of the town, measuring around 1.5 km in length and is where the Kanina Rock Festival and Virgin of Hope Pilgrimage are celebrated.

The beach has become a favourite with the locals who are seeking peace and quiet. Fishing is banned as well as shell fishing or the from their environment. The beach itself does not belong to the natural area although it is protected by the INIA.

Totalán

Totalán is part of the Ruta de la Pasa (Raisin route). This small but beautiful town is surrounded by vineyards, almond groves and paseros (raisin drying areas). The town has an Arabic heritage, with its narrow, steep, winding streets and whitewashed houses.
