Consumer Association

FACUA-Consumers in Action is a non-governmental and non-profit organization. Since its foundation in 1981, it has been dedicated to the defence of consumer rights. FACUA can be considered a progressive, democratic, plural and participatory organization, independent from government, political parties, religious ideologies and business interests.

Registering Banking Complaints

To register a complaint against a bank or other financial entity in Spain, the process is as follows. The first thing you must do is to register a written complaint with the customer service department (servicio al cliente) of the institution in question. Be sure that you leave one copy with the company and have another stamped with the date received. In the case that your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you will need this documentation later.

Cordoba Bus Service

There is a modern bus station opposite the RENFE railway station. The bus station itself has become one of the emblematic buildings of Córdoba. The building wone the National Prize for Architecture in 1999 when it was built was built by César Portela. In the car park travellers can observe remains of a Mozarabic house, the junction of two aqueducts and a mosque with Roman ashlars.

Holiday rental property registration in Andalucia

The registration of tourist holiday rental accommodation by owners is compulsory in Andalucia. The special regulations for tourist rental accommodation (BOJA Decreto 28/2016) came into force in  February 2016. The registration process whilst compulsory is still ongoing several years later.   

Golf La Alcaidesa

Alcaidesa is home to a two very popular and rewarding golf courses. Both Morocco and Gibraltar are visible on clear days and the sea is only a drive away, excuse the pun. The Alcaidesa Links golf course is a beauty for beginners and the Alcaidesa Heathland golf course is spectacular course only opened in 2007 by Dave Thomas.

Desafio Doñana - Andalucia Triathlon

The Andalucía Desafío Doñana (Andalucia Doñana Challenge) - Triathlon was inaugurated in 2009 as a premier sporting event to showcase some of the white villages of Cadiz and the Doñana National Park. A clearly successful event that has been held every year since.

Andalucia Bike Race

The  Andalucía Bike Race is a cross-country mountain bike race which takes place in February each year. The race lasts five or six days and is usually held in and around the Andalucian cities of Cordoba and Jaen; the first edition took place in 2011. Each stage takes between one and a half and three and a half hours to complete. 

Real Estate Associations

There are a number of associations and groups offering credentials and licenses to real estate agents. Some focus mainly on sharing resources and provide a credential in as much as they associate prestigious or well-known names in the industry and therefore make a joint effort to uphold their good reputation. Others serve as official bodies that license agents or provide on-going training.

Jellyfish

Large numbers of jellyfish (Medusas in Spanish) have been a problem from time to time on certain warm Mediterranean beaches in the early Summer in recent years.

Climbing

Those who find hiking not quite exciting enough, may like to try mountaineering, rock climbing or caving, all of which are popular in this part of Spain with a wealth of challenges and some of the best areas in Europe outside the Alps.

Starlite Festival 2017 - The Licensing Saga

On the night of 3 August 2017, following the Gypsy Kings concert at the Starlite Marbella Festival, the Starlite Lounge area was unexpectedly closed at 2am, as local police had been requested by the town's Mayor to enforce licenced opening hours. (Opening hours for bars are till 2am, and 3am Friday and Saturday.)

Trumps Bridge Club, Nerja

We are a very friendly international bridge club playing duplicate every week on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the year. We also play on a Friday in January, February and March.

Bardal restaurant Ronda

Bardal gained its first Michelin star in November 2017, shortly after opening in July 2016. Just two years later, in November 2019, it moved up to two-star status. Chef Benito Gomez, who is originally from Barcelona, previously worked in La Alqueria, in Hotel Hacienda Benazuza (now closed) in Sanlucar la Mayor (Seville), and before opening Bardal he had another restaurant nearby in Ronda, Tragata.

Malaga Metro

The Málaga Metro is a light railway network with two lines which opened in July 2014. They cover the areas to the west and south-west of the city. The lines curently terminate at the main line train station and the extention to bring the metro right into the city centre is under constructioni.
