Plaza Nueva - Linares
This garden square is also known as Plaza de Alfonso XII. When the Town Hall decided to build it, mining and industrial development led to the establishment of the first British consulate in its vicinity, led by Thomas Sopwith (1872). Several members of the British community who had moved here agreed to erect a statue in 1890. It is an allegory of agriculture, by an unknown author.
