La Venta de la Vargas in San Fernando is an intersting Venta / restaurant which is famous for being the place where flamenco sincer Camarón de la Isla started his career by playing at venues such as La Venta de Vargas, along with his life long friend Rancapino, another revered figure in the world of cante.
Where today's Estepona to Algatocin road (MA-536) crosses the Genal River by the Puente de San Juan, you can find a popular roadside restaurant called Venta de San Juan and two campsites (one of which is called Camping Genal).

Venta Butibama at La Cala de Mijas is a good place to go for a typical roadside Venta oe Café/Restaurant. It is very popular and has a long and distinguished history.
