Seville has a good selection of cinemas, if you are looking for English language films or "VO" (original version). Avenida 5 cines announces its "VO" films for the week, each Tuesday. The simultaneous Spanish subtitles are perfect for both English and Spanish language students.
The old cinemas of Andalucia have largely been replaced by large multi-screen air-conditioned complexes, showing mainly Spanish and dubbed US films (very few are subtitled in other languages). Exception is Cine Madregal which is a large old fashioned style cinema.
The Marbella International Film Festival has been held annually since 2006. It is traditionally held for a week in mid-September and provides a venue for encouraging artists from all parts of the world.
