Yesterday I popped into Seville to have a look at the unveiled Mushrooms. Here are some photos, showing different angles - this building is all about sinous shapes, flowing forms and other alliterative descriptions.

She is already a high-profile character in both the art world and the prensa rosa, and today Tita Cervera, more formally known as the Baronesa Thyssen Bornemisza, former beauty queen, now one of the world's foremost art collectors, came to Malaga to open her new museum. And it really is hers - the paintings are from her own personal collection, amassed over the past 30 years, and the museum is called Museo Carmen Thyssen - she's even more personally name-tagged than Mr Guggenheim; she's Spain's JP Getty.

It's been a dramatic month in terms of the sea - the dreadful, destructive tsunami wiped out entire towns on the east coast of Japan. The images will stay in my mind for ever, although I think certain news channels overdid the "wall of water" video footage - non-stop 24-hours-a-day of huge waves, floating cars and upside-down houses can lose their shock value after a while, until you suddenly remember you're not watching a disaster movie or a video game, but people's homes - and lives - being washed away.
