Hotels in Vera

Parque de la Constitución

Parque de la Constitución, a large city park was built in the 1950´s just out of the town centre, minutes walk from the beach. It is especially tranquil and was once the garden of a private residence. Parque de la Constitución is one of the most visited parks in Marbella. The park has an amphitheatre that is ocassionally used for outdoor concerts and plays in the summer season, the anphitheatre is beautiful example of traditional Andalucian architecture.

Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios

Puerto Lope had its own jurisdiction and Town Hall in 1824, but these were completely burned down during the Peninsular War The town and its church were lost, but were restored in 1840. The church featured an elegant high altar and a wooden pulpit accessed by a matching staircase, as well as a large marble baptismal font. The church was donated to the town by its owner, Don Eduardo Estrala.

Manuela Carrasco

Manuela Carrasco was born in Triana, Seville, in 1958, and from her early childhood displayed a natural instinct for flamenco dance. She was born into a family of gypsy flamenco artistes, her father José Carrasco, El Sordo, was an excellent dancer and Manuela learned the rudiments of the “baile flamenco” from simply being surrounded by the flamenco scene of Triana.
