Iglesia Parroquial de San Agustín

The first church in Lobras was destroyed in the mid-sixteenth century and had to be rebuilt amid the difficulties of the Moorish rebellion. The oldest element is the tower, which is attached to the small main chapel.

Alozaina

The municipal district of the village of Alozaina, some five kilometres in area, sits between the distinct geographic regions of the Guadalhorce Valley and the Serrania de Ronda. This gives the area a varied landscape of fertile agriculture and mountain upland, topped by the limestone outcrops of the Sierra Prieta and La Ventanilla.

Sailing Courses

In ports all along the coast of Andalucía sailing classes are typically offered through the port's club, or members' association. As courses are often sold as a package involving a certain number of hours/weeks, these are best reserved only for an extended holiday.

Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza

The chapel offers the best viewpoint in the region, and has become a key destination for pilgrims and hikers alike. Located on the summit of Monteagud, a reference point throughout the region for geographical and religious orientation. Located north of Uleila del Campo, off the A-1100.

Hotels - Casino Hotels on the Costa del Sol

Casino hotels are those which offer, or allow access to, casinos as part of the available facilities.

Generally, these hotels offer a number of other facilities around the casino, such as bars, restaurants or swimming pools, to add an element of luxury and entertainment to a guest’s stay. Their location on the Costa del Sol is also an added bonus which guests can take advantage of during their stay.

Iglesia de Santa Cruz

The church stands out from the rest of the town thanks to the ochre colour of its tiles and the brickwork of its walls. It dates back to 1501, when the parish was attached to that of Capileira de Poqueira. On 15 October that year, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, Archbishop of Seville, canonically established the original parish of Pampaneira alongside 44 others in the Alpujarra Tahas.

La Cañada in Marbella

Along with the sun, sea and sand attracting people to Marbella and the Costa del Sol, ‘La Cañada' shopping centre is another huge attraction for tourists and inhabitants alike. It was built by ‘General de Galerías Comerciales'.

La Almazara

A family oil mill that began its activity around 1920 and was in operation until 1970. The mill belonged to Maria Martinez and Isabel Martinez. Many residents of the municipality used the mill to press their locally grown olives to make their annual supply of oil.

Jimena de la Frontera - Los Ángeles

The small neighbourhood of Los Ángeles is located just 2km south-east of the village of Jimena de la Frontera. The two places are so closely affiliated that Los Ángeles used to be known as Estación de Ferrocarril de Jimena de la Frontera (Jimena train station), since this is where the town’s station is located. From here trains go direct to and from Algeciras and Granada. In 2018, the population of Los Angeles was recorded as being 2,185.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda Beaches

Sanlucar de Barrameda is delightful small town situated at the northern tip of the sherry triangle and is home to the first beaches of the Cádiz side of the Costa de la Luz. The first beach (i.e. the most northerly) on the Cádiz side of the Costa de la Luz is known for its calm waters and golden sand. Bonanza beach is very popular with the locals so can get busy during the summer months.

Golf News - Garcia stays in control heading into Monday at Valderrama

Round three update

Sergio Garcia remains on course for a third title at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation, but will now have to wait until Monday to complete his third and final round after play was suspended due to thunderstorms and heavy rain.

The defending champion - who also won the event in 2011 - is three strokes clear of nearest challenger Lee Westwood at Real Club Valderrama and will have 11 holes remaining when play restarts at 9.10 am.

Museo Historico Municipal de Cádiz

Museo Historico Municipal de Cádiz boasts a 19th century mural depicting the establishment of the Constitution of 1812. The real showpiece is a fascinating mahogany and ivory model of the city which dates back to 1779 and which is a fascinating duplicate of all the streets and the buildings much as they are today.
