Real Monasterio de la Encarnacion

This convent is located on one side of Plaza Vieja, opposite the CIP and tourist office. Officially called Real Monasterio de la Encarnacion, it is known locally as Las Claras. The church dates from the 18th century, with a cross-shaped floor pattern, and a cupola over the transept decorated with plasterwork and coats of arms.

Faralá restaurant Granada

Los Baños

The Dúrcal baths have been renowned for their beneficial properties since ancient times. This group of springs comprises two very different sources: the large Vacamía bath and the small Urquizar bath. According to legend, when the Moors who inhabited these lands found themselves besieged by Christian troops in one of their ongoing struggles, they decided to hide their treasures, including a life-size gold cow with diamond-set eyes and ivory horns.

Iglesia de San Indalecio

The church was recognized as the Episcopal Headquaters in Rome by the Apostles at the beginning of the fourth century. During the Visigoth period, its Bishops attended the councils of Toledo and, in the High Middle Ages, already under Muslim domination, it was preserved until the late-eleventh century.

Palacio del Marqués de Salvatierra

Across the cuesta from the Casa del Rey Moro, the Palacio of the Marqués de Salvatierra family opens irregularly as a small museum of Renaissance art and artefacts. The Palacio is an 18th century renovation of an earlier 16th century building gifted to the family of Don Vasco Martín de Salvatierra by the Reyes Catolicos when they redistributed the spoils of the Reconquest.

License Renewal

Anyone holding a Spanish drivers' license must renew the document according to the following schedule: From the time you receive your license until you turn 45 years old, you must renew every 10 years. From the ages of 45 to 70, you must renew every 5 years. From the age of 70, you must renew every 2 years. Renewal involves paying a fee, of course, and passing physical and "psico-tecnico" exams.

Castillo de Macias El Enamorado

The castle is famous not as the site of military exploits, but because Macías ‘el Enamorado’ was imprisoned and murdered here. His love affairs inspired works by Lope de Vega y Larra.

Ceuta See & Do - Arab Baths

They were open at certain times for men and other times for women and some baths were connected to the nearby mosques. These baths have been considered the successors of Roman thermal baths, but with less monumental impact.
