Femina

'Fémina' is the fourth Estepona mural by the Malaga artist Curro Leyton. This follows : ‘Quijote en el Siglo XXI’, 'The last Supper' and 'Leyton'. Femina measures 60 m2 and can be seen on one of the exterior walls of the Polideportivo Municipal Cibier la Lobilla. It was inaugurated in July 2020.

La Lí­nea de la Concepción Beaches

Playa de Poniente is an urban beach backed by an area of large Brown tower blocks, located to the left of the port. The beach is around 700m long with grey, medium-grain sand and an average width of just 15m. It has a pretty landscaped paseo maritimo with its own cycle lane and plenty of nearby parking.

Malaga City Train Station

Malaga María Zambrano train Station opened in 2007 as a Vialia sponsored station on the site of the original 1863 station. It is situated on Explanada de la Estación in the South West of the City Centre. It is next door to the Bus station, approximately 2 km from the Malaga port and 9 km from Malaga Airport.

Routes

From Barbate take the CA2143 to Caños de Meca. This is the principal road through the park and it passes through the Pinar de la Breña. You can stop off this route and go for a walk in the pine forest; at Km 3.5 is a forestry track, the Sendero del Torre de Tajo.

Estepona Summer Feria 2025

Estepona Summer Feria takes place the first week in July from Tuesday to Sunday and gives everyone a week to enjoy dancing, drinking and eating. Both the day fair and the night fair take place at the 'Parque Ferial y Deportivo' located at the top of Avenida Juan Carlos I next to the A-7 coast road that by-passes Estepona. 

Guadalpark Sevilla

Ten rides, including Fast River, black hole and foam slides; little kids’ pool. Jacuzzi and lake with waterfall will appeal to parents, as will VIP area: shady pergola on lawn with table, chairs, sunloungers, and some drinks, for a steep 35 euros. Three restaurants offering standard fare - pizza, burger and ice-cream – plus barbeque.

Grahame Greene

Numerous celebrated literary figures passed through Torremolinos during its glory years and some used it as a base for their short stories, novels and poems. Grahame Green, the English novelist regarded by many as one of the great writers of the twentieth century, arrived in 1953.

Flights to Andalucia

Andalucia is extremely well-connected for international visitors, with thousands of flights arriving from all over Europe every day. There are six main airports in the region - five in Andalucia itself (Malaga, Seville, Granada, Jerez and Almeria), plus Gibraltar, which is handy for the Costa de la Luz (south of Cadiz) and western Costa del Sol (west of Malaga).

Alcazaba of Málaga

La Alcazaba is Malaga's most important landmark, and overlooks the city from a hilltop inland. It is one of two Moorish fortresses in the city, the other being the Castillo de Gibralfaro, situated above. The Alcazaba is the best-preserved Moorish fortress palace in Spain. It received about 1 million visitors in 2016.

Laguna del Portil Natural Area

Seven kilometres from Punta Umbría is the small resort of El Portil, with its 13-hectare reserve of a small freshwater lagoon, the Reserva Natural Laguna de El Portil. The reserve is most well known for its population of chameleons.

Festivals in Begíjar

Popular festivals in Begíjar are Festival de la Moto, Fiesta de la Virgen de la Cabeza, Fiesta de Santiago Apóstol, Feria y Fiestas del Cristo de la Vera Cruz and Fiesta de San José Obrero.

Two-star Hotels on the Costa de la Luz

A selection of hotels with a two-star rating according to the official star rating. On top of basic facilities, you can expect to find extra amenities and services such as laundry service and slightly larger rooms than in one-star hotels.

Prices are generally low and offer good value for money; precise offerings in terms of facilities and services will vary for each hotel. The minimum bedroom size is 14m2, and reception must be attended until 8pm.

Hotel NH Plaza de Armas

Handily located, this large hotel is not far from the main shopping area, very close to the Bellas Artes museum, and opposite (literally) the only cinema in Seville which shows films in English. If you’re heading east out of town, either by bus or car, then this is the best place to stay, as you’re minutes from the motorway and less than an hour from Huelva beaches and El Rocio, while Portugal’s not much further.

Piedra Lobera Natural Monument

A limestone escarpment rising to 1,722m at its highest point of the Lúcar peak, the Piedra Lobera is exceptional for its unique microclimate that has ensured the survival of several rare plant species and others that are unique in Almeria. Its name, the Wolf Rock, refers to the fact that this was the last habitat of the wolf in Almeria province.
