HISTORY
The original 1890 station building can be seen that houses the waiting room. The single-storey pitched-roof white building with Andalucian yellow trim around doors and windows is in good condition. You can see the original Linley & Co. of Birmingham Improved Platform Lamp iron wall bracket. The wood-fringed platform canopy, supported on wrought-iron pillars spanning the adjacent platform, lends the station an 'anglo', or some would say colonial-Indian, look. The familiar brick goods shed with circular window opening in the pitched-roof gable is still in the yard.
