Baños Árabes

Baños Árabes

The Arab Baths are located inside a house near the Arabuleila irrigation channel, which supplied them with water. The building is typical of the design of Arab baths in the Nasrid rural world and consists of a series of rectangular rooms, each with a specific purpose.

Documented rooms include the warm room (bayt al-wastani) and the hot room (bayt al-sajun), as well as a third room that may have served as a vestibule. In 1985, the General Directorate of Fine Arts of the Regional Ministry of Culture of the Andalusian Government initiated the process to declare the Arab Baths a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC).

On 18 January 2006, the Arab Baths were declared a BIC in the monument category, the highest level of protection under the Spanish Historical Heritage Law. They were also registered in the General Catalogue of Andalusian Historical Heritage.

It is located on Calle Baño.
