Muelle de Heredia Malaga Port Bus Station | Malaga Bus Timetables

 

There is one main bus station in Malaga city serving all long distant routes, and also a smaller bus halt called Muelle de Heredia serving the city and nearby towns mainy east of Malaga.

 

MALAGA´S MAIN BUS STATION

Malaga´s main bus station is situated on Paseo de los Tilos in the south west of the city centre.

It is well organized, open and light with an L shaped concourse.  There are 38 platforms with electronic signs showing departure time and bus destination.

It conveniently located next door to the Maria Zambrano Train station, which has a frequent local 'cercanias' train service to Malaga Costa del Sol Airport 9 km away. The main bus station is approximately 2 km from the Malaga Port.

In the centre of the concourse is an information point. Nowadays the information office windows are unmanned but there is a touch screen info point that is actually the same info as the online timetable. Having selected your destination you can print the bus times.

Times of the arrivals and departures of buses and platform numbers are shown on the electronic display above the desk.

Buses from Malaga Bus Station travel over Spain including; Cadiz, Cordoba, Madrid, Valencia, Almeria, Bilbao, Huelva and various cities of Galicia and also to France and Morocco.

Armas the ferry company sailing from Motril to Melilla operate a free bus service to their ferry at the Motril port.

 

Ammenities

The station has news agents, restaurants, cafes, gift shops, travel agents, bureau de change and Internet services. They also have a childrens play area,an information point, toilets, disabled toilets, taxi rank, bus company ticket offices, public phones, a waiting room, left luggage lockers (Small suitcase or medium rucksack size), a luggage or parcel check in, post box, various small kiosk shops for gifts sweets books phone cards.

Muelle de Heredia Malaga port Bus 'Station'

This is the smaller of the two bus stations and is also named 'Estacion de Autobuses de Puerto de Malaga'. It serves the city and its surrounding province, such as Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Los Rubios, Rincón de la Victoria and Torremolinos. The station was renovated in 2010 so is fairly modern and is located in the entrance to the port on Avenue Heredia, very close to Plaza de la Marina.

Getting between the bus stations

Getting between Main Bus Station (Estacion de Autobuses, Paseo de los Tilos) and Muelle Heredia Bus Station (Estacion de Autobuses de Puerto de Malaga).


Walking between the bus stations is 1,400m.
Train; If you are arriving by the Maria Zambrano Train Stations (Next to the main bus station) consider taking the ‘Cercanias’ train one stop to ‘Centro Alhameda’ and then walking to Muelle Heredia Bus station which is only 700m.
Local bus number 4 runs from Paseo de los Tilos; Plaza de la Solidaridad (Stop Number 468) to Alameda Principal Sur (Stop Number 1861) which is 350m from the Muelle Heredia bus station. In the other direction it runs from from Alameda Principal Norte (Stop Number 1701) to Paseo de los Tilos - Estación de Autobuses (Stop Number 2417)
Local circular bus number C1 runs between the Alameda Principal (North) (Stop Number 601) and Maria Zambrano train station on Esplanada de la Estacion (Stop number 403) but not back as it is a circular service.
Taxi is the most convenient and will be under 6€.
Tourist Hop on Hop off bus also runs from the Maria Zambrano train station to the Port entrance.
