Plaza de las Naciones, Fuengirola
Plaza de las Naciones, features an interesting sculpture fountain in a small plaza on the Paseo Maritimo in Fuengirola.
The Fountain of Nations which was unveiled in August 2019 pays tribute to the 132 nationalities that live in Fuengirola.
The Fountain of Nations has the features a steel framed structure in the shape of a globe of the world on which hangs flags of all the countries of the world where residents of Fuengirola hail from. The non Spanish residents are over one third of the total population of Fuengirola.
The fountain was designed and constructed by the company Ideas Diseño y Construcción comissioned by the Fuengirola town hall with the help of a grant of 44k euros from the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental.
The fountain lights up at night and naturally recycles its water.
