Hotel Villa Padierna Opens Its Doors
Flamingos Golf Club & Resort's first five-star Grand Luxury hotel opened its doors April 1, 2003. Flamingos Golf Club & Resort is situated in one of the most beautiful enclaves of Marbella, also known as the 'New Golden Mile'. It is a short drive from Puerto Banus or Marbella's Old Town.
The hotel is designed to cleverly resemble an old palace converted into a luxury hotel with 41 rooms and 12 suites. The decoration and design of the rooms, courtyard, loggia, bar and restaurant reflect the traditional life of a Tuscan mansion.
Situated on the ground floor of the hotel is the reception, the courtyard with its glass dome, bar and clubhouse lounge, 'La Loggia' restaurant and the gourmet restaurant 'La Veranda'. This is ideal for private dinners, a christening or other celebrations. The large terrace offers fantastic views of the Flamingo Rosa golf course, the Mediterranean sea and the Rif mountains of Africa. The sunsets to be seen from this vantage point will add countless memories to family or company festivities. There are few hotels in the world that can boast such luxury with many original antiques, marble, fountains and paintings contributing to an exclusive yet friendly atmosphere.
From the marbled courtyard in reception, the stairs rise to the bedrooms situated on each of the first, second and third floors. Each of the rooms has been decorated with the utmost care and has been equipped with the most modern fittings to meet the requirements of the most demanding guest. The Hotel Villa Padierna is the only hotel on the Costa del Sol that offers its guests free access to the Internet. It is also the only one which offers in almost every room the same view from the bathrooms as the bedrooms.
The fourth floor is different. It consists of 4 individually decorated penthouses. According to the needs of the guest, the penthouses can be adjusted by adding further bedrooms or salons.
The largest conference room is 360m2 and can be divided into 3 separate meeting rooms. This room is the perfect size for a gala dinner, business presentation or the launching of a new product. La Loggia is, perhaps, most appropriate for golf presentation dinners due to its views, atmosphere and elegance.
During summer 2003, the outdoor swimming pool will be finished, which will be in the garden between the two hotel 'wings'. The second hotel building will have 54 more rooms and also a fully-equipped spa with thermal baths along with further meeting rooms. The second establishment will be open for guests during summer 2004.
The hotel inauguration represents the second phase of the luxury resort's development after the 18 holes of 'Flamingo Rosa' were opened for play on July 11, 2001. Flamingo Rosa represents the garden of the Tuscan villa and Roman columns, classically-styled statues and marble bridges were talking points during the three professional tournaments Flamingos Golf has already hosted. In March 2003 Flamingo Blanco will also be completed. This is an 18-hole par 64 Academy course next to a 100-bay driving range and a team of highly-qualified professionals. The construction of classrooms and other facilities started in January 2003 and will be completed before October 2003.
