Spain's first public golf course was in Cordoba
The course at Pozoblanco, a small town in Cordoba province, was Spain's first municipal course; it was built in 1984. Previously, those who could not afford club would play fees on a rustic, grassless layout. The people of the town, which is 80km north of Cordoba, had to convince the local and regional authorities to finance the construction of the nine-hole course. Located within the Cabeza Oliva nature reserve, it is largely flat and features oak trees.
