The municipal cemetery of Benalmádena has no religious restrictions; Muslims, Catholics, Jews and atheists are all buried alongside each other. This is also an international cemetery, so regardless of religion or nationality, anyone can be buried here. Although there are a few Muslim graves in the main part of the cemetery, there is also a separate Muslim burial ground.
In Andalucia, the hotel star-rating system is overseen by the Consejeria de Turismo (actually Consejería de Turismo, Regeneración, Justicia y Administración Local ) of the Junta de Andalucia (regional government's Ministry of Tourism and Sport). A new hotel star rating system was published in May 2020 (Decree 13/2020 and 14/2021), long overdue since it had remained largely unchanged since 1984.

Festivals in Bebarraba - Calle Pósito is turned into a medieval village and where a large proportion of the villagers dress for the occasion. The street is full on both sides with local products, mainly food stuffs, as well local bars take part in the theme. This small sixteenth-century chapel was built on the initiative of Francisca and Mencía Fajardo, sisters of the Marquis de los Vélez, and became the funeral chapel for part of the family. It was built between 1573 and 1577 by Gabriel Ruiz Tahuste, together with the carpenters Gabriel Halcón, Juan Alonso Quevedo and Francisco Martínez.
A bi-annual event during the first two weeks in August on even years there is an art festival in Genalguacil called "Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal", and prize-winning works of art are created by 'Artists in residence' and placed on permanent public display throughout the village afterwards. Pizarra is a tiny town lying 30 kilometres upriver in the Guadalhorce valley at the foot of the 350 metre high Sierra del Hacho.
