Ceuta See & Do - Califate Gate

The door was meant to be the access for the walls that Abderraman III built after Ceuta was conquered in 1931, In order to close the isthmus area of the city itself. The "califa" nickname was given because the door belongs to the Caliphate of Córdoba period. The Caliphal Gate and its site that belonged during the Roman Era to the industrial area are part of a time line that takes us to the past thanks to its good state of preservation and to the excellent works carried out.

Nueva Andalucia district of Marbella

Nueva Andalucía is the largest neighbourhood in Marbella, extending over several square kilometres. It has an official census population of about 15,000 but considerably more residents in the summer. It was created by Madrid developer José Banús Mas, who came to Marbella in 1962 and acquired the land. Construction of Puerto Banús began in 1965, it was inaugurated in 1968, and the main infrastructure of Nueva Andalucía was installed shortly afterward. The area continued to grow until 1989 - and again in the 2000s.

Castillo de Espelúy

Among the most representative buildings is the castle from the Caliphate era. It was the first written reference to Espelúy from the thirteenth century, when the General Chronicle reported that it was one of the Muslim castles attacked and destroyed by Fernando III “el Santo” in 1224.

Barbie Museum, Arroyo de la Miel

The Barbie Museum is closed. One of the most unusual attractions in Arroyo de la Miel is the little known Barbie Museum, located in Calle Andalucía, at the end of the pedestrianised Calle Blas Infante. Along with an impressive collection of 800 Barbie dolls, the museum, notable for its bright pink façade, has a collectables shop offering superhero and manga comics, animated Disney characters and toy soldiers.

Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol

Construction of this church began under the first Marquis de los Vélez, Don Pedro Fajardo y Chacón, as soon as works on the castle concluded in 1512.

Genalguacil - Encuentros de Arte 2014

A bi-annual event during the first two weeks in August on even years there is an art festival in Genalguacil called "Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal", and prize-winning works of art are created by 'Artists in residence' and placed on permanent public display throughout the village afterwards. Wines of Malaga

Ermita de San José

This chapel was built in plastered masonry, with a bell tower that shares its first third of wall with the hermitage, while doubling it in height. The altar is crowned by a half-orange vault.
