Golf - Añoreta Golf

This was the first course to be designed by Jose Maria Canizares. It is located east of Malaga between the sea and the mountains.

This course suits all abilities with its generous bermuda fairways, and rolling greens. It is beautifully laid out, the flat greens and numerous water features are complemented by the abundance of tall palm trees and colourful flowers. The 7th hole has stunning panoramic views over the sea while water features can be found at 11 holes.

Beach Barbeque

In Estepona, at either end of the Playa La Rada, you can find a number of fishing boats filled with sand which are used for moragas. A moraga is a night-time barbeque party, usually held on the beach. It is traditional to Malaga province, but is also found in other parts of Andalucia. A moraga is differentiated from a barbeque in that the food being cooked is an espeto of sardines.

History of Gor

Human settlements in this area date back to Neanderthal times, as evidenced by the remains at Peña del Escarmiento. There are also Neolithic remains at Las Angosturas. At Cortijo Colorado, the remains of Iberian, Roman and Byzantine settlements can be seen. Moors and, later, Christians also occupied these lands.

Casa Morisca

This three-star hotel was originally a morisco residence – Moors who stayed on after the Christian reconquest by the Catholic monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella. With just 14 rooms, the beautifully restored Granada house epitomises the intimate atmosphere of the Albaicin, with its narrow streets and centuries-old houses. The interior courtyard has a morisco pool which dates from when the house was first built.
