Countryside walks around Cabra

Cabra is part of the Sierras de Subbéticas Natural Park, which makes this area ideal for "active tourism" and adventure tourism. In fact, the highest point in the Sierra de Cabra mountain range has been designated an official view point and is known by many as "Andalucia's Balcony".

Bayarque

Bayarque is an ideal destination for nature lovers or those seeking peace and quiet. The countryside surrounding this Almerian town is especially beautiful and features large vegetable gardens in the meadows, dense woodland and the ‘Pinar de Bayarque’ pine grove. La Palma del Condado

La Palma del Condado provides a traveller with many attractions both cultural and gastronomic during any season. The old part of town has been declared of cultural interest and the surrounding countryside is becoming ever more famous for their production of wine.

Via Verde Lucainena de las Torres

The Lucainena de las Torres greenway runs for 5.5 kilometres, from the Punete del Saltador at the Rambla Honda to Lucainena de las Torres. It follows the path of the old mining train which ran from Lucainena to Aguas Amargas on the coast.

History of Castro de Filabres

The history of Castro de Filabres dates to the Roman era, although there are some vestiges of prehistoric times, particularly from the Copper Age. Remains of polished stone instruments with axes, known as “Lightning Stones” , have also been found, made with a material called diorite. The foundation of the town is framed between legend and reality.

Almócita

Almócita is found inside the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. The town’s centre is flooded with Moorish architecture which still remains despite the Jewish quarter situated underneath it. It has about 170 inhabitants. Almócita was founded by the descendants of Tubal, surviving the Arab occupation and still preserving the Jewish quarter in its Barrio Bajo.

Cabezas Rubias

The name of this town refers to being surrounded by golden-coloured mountains which resemble blonde heads.

Escultura “Labriego”

Unveiled in 2007, this sculpture by César Molina honours the first settlers of El Chaparral, depicting a farmer ploughing and engraved with the names of 120 pioneers.

Seville City Centre

This area is between Plaza de Encarnacion and Plaza Nueva, and its main attraction is the shopping zone around calles Sierpes, Cuna and Velazquez/Tetuan. Come here to find excellent quality Spanish-made leather shoes, boots and bags, as well as the traditional fans and embroidered shawls - or just do as the locals do, and walk around browsing and discussing, before stopping for a coffee. Zara and Mango abound; other fashion chains include Blanco, Pull & Bear and Sfera.

Carboneras

Sitting in a unique and spectacular environment, Carboneras is a perfect destination for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy the views, or practice open-air sports including hiking or scuba diving. It is set within the Nature Reserve of Cabo de Gata-Níjar, one of the most arid protected areas in Europe and the only one in Andalusia with a coast, including Los Muertos beach.

The village centre has several small squares; Plaza de la Iglesia, La Plaza de las Quebradas, and Paseo de los Alcaldes. Plaza de la Iglesia (Church square) also known as Plaza del Ayuntamiento (Town Hall square) is well worth taking a walk through the town to see this quiet, pretty square (without any cafes) where you can see the church, town hall, and Fuente de Consejo public water fountain.
