Dreambeach, Playa Villaricos 2023

Dreambeach is multi-day festival featuring the best electronic music on the planet, on the coast of Almeria. Dreambeach takes place on the first weekend (Friday and Saturday) in August at Playa Villaricos (Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería). It is now extended to cover more days.

Bowls

There are only a few quality lawn bowling clubs in Andalucia. Lawn bowling is a popular sport amongst the international community on the Costa del Sol where most of the clubs are situated.

Jun

Jun is located at the edge of the Sierra de Huétor natural park, in the centre of the Granada lowland. The village offers a great combination of natural landscapes and a wealth of heritage and tradition. Jun has origins dating back to Roman times; remains of gravestones have been found with mention of the village. The Roman population was followed by Visigoth and Muslim settlers.

GR7 Footpath

The letters GR stand for "Gran Recorrido" (Long Journey). The GR7 is the footpath through Andalucia, which forms part of the European Route No. 4. The route is made up of itineraries, which are designed to avoid crossing or using tarmac roads or any roads used by traffic, wherever possible.

Carteia Roman Archaeological Site

Driving past Algeciras on the N340, a passer-by would never suspect that nestled behind Cepsa´s vast petrochemical plant is one of Andalucia´s most significant ancient heritage sites. Yacimiento Arqueológico Romano Carteia (Carteia Roman Archeological Site) is a strange theatre of juxtaposition, with Roman structures of varying preservation, medieval additions, and a backdrop of smoke-spewing chimneys. These fascinating contradictions alone make the site worth a visit, but its rich history remains the focus.

Los Guájares

Los Guájares is comprised of three small villages: Guájar Faragüit, Guájar Fondón and Guájar Alto. The area is located in a small, beautiful subtropical valley, formed by the River Loba. Its name comes from the Arabic word for abrupt, steep and difficult to access, describing the mountain below where the villages are situated.
