FUENTE DEL VINO

FUENTE DEL VINO

The Fuente del Vino has been designated a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) by the Junta de Andalucía since 2008. This free wine fountain quenches the thirst of all visitors to the Cádiar fair at the beginning of October. The fountain was created in 1967 by a group of friends: Enrique Morón, Francisco Dumont Álvarez, Manuel Tarifa López and Luis Rodríguez Zapata. Since then, the fountain's structure has evolved. In 2014, a definitive Fuente del Vino was built in a more rationalist style, taking the form of a roundabout with a water fountain adorned with a poem by Enrique Morón. Designed by architect Raquel Ruiz Monge, it is made up of two distinct areas joined together by two large curved walls. It is located in Plaza La Iglesia
