Fuente de los Cien Caños

Fuente de los Cien Caños

The Fuente de los Cien Caños is located by steep slopes close to the Sierra de San Jorge. Water flows from multiple springs, into ditches, connected to various spouts.  The area is surrounded by a beautiful and varied landscape with typical Mediterranean vegetation including olive trees, pines, holm oaks, shrubs and scrubland. At the foot of the mountains lies the Archidona plain, a landscape of gentle slopes covered in cereal crops and olive groves; where the plain opens up. There are various vegetable gardens with farmhouses that are irrigated by water from the Sierra Gorda and San Jorge. These, together with those of the Gibalto stream, form the Guadalhorce River: the longest and most abundant in the province of Málaga, which flows exclusively through the interior, flows through ten municipalities before emptying into the Mediterranean Sea to the west of the city of Málaga.
