Día de San José
Día de San José is celebrated on the 19th March. It is one of three holidays that mark the landing of a hundred pirates on the shore, who were shot by the legion of soldiers and inhabitants of the Bay of Sollarete. This eighteenth-century event is recreated during the festival, which involves residents of the entire municipality. Activities on the day include games and children’s activities, food tasting and contests, skating and other sports competitions and a midday fair and evening party.
Día de San Juan
Día de San Juan is celebrated on the 23rd June. It is celebrated on the beach with food, drink and music. At midnight, fires are lit and the locals take a nighttime dip in the sea.
Fiesta del Turista
Fiesta del Turista is traditionally celebrated the first weekend of August with various festivities.
