Carnival The carnival in Alhaurín el Grande takes place in February.
Holy Week
The holy Week (Semana Santa) in Alhaurín el Grande takes place during the week leading up to Easter Sunday.
Three Kings Parade
The Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Parade) is celebrated on 5th January.
San Antón (17 January)
Animals are blessed as part of the celebrations. Additionally, people enjoy traditional dishes such as chocolate-dipped fritters, alongside lively neighbourhood celebrations.
May Crosses (1–3 May)
The streets and balconies of the village are decorated with colourful crosses and floral arrangements, all accompanied by music, dancing and popular competitions.
San Juan Bautista Fair and Festivities (20-24 June)
These are the town’s patron saint festivities in honour of St John the Baptist, featuring religious ceremonies, processions, concerts, traditional fairground attractions, local cuisine, and folk activities throughout the town.
Festival Flamenco "Torre del Cante" (on the third Saturday of June each year)
This flamenco festival takes place at the Finca Municipal El Portón and is one of the town’s most prominent cultural events, featuring performances by singers, guitarists, and dancers who pay tribute to the art of flamenco.
Romería de San Juan
This traditional pilgrimage in honour of Saint John includes a procession through the village, music, dancing , and communal meals, blending relgious devotion with a popular festival
Our Lady of Grace (15 August)
The town pays tribute to its patron saint with religious processions, open-air concerts and evening fairs featuring music, dancing and local cuisine.
