Andalucia has a number of Marine Centres that are ideal for family entertainment and education. Most are open from May to September. There are also a number of small quieter Marine Science Centres that are also open to the public as an educational and environmental projects.

Both the Phoenicians and Romans passed through this town, causing a chain exploitation of the resources of the area, which were later used by the Arabs. Under Roman occupation, it was known as Turaniana. Initially, this population was located in the Ribera de la Algaida.

The first interesting connection between John Lennon and Andalucía was his trip to Torremolinos with The Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, in the summer of 1963. They spent two weeks there on holiday together, partly because Torremolinos was more accepting of gay people like Epstein, than Liverpool was at the time.

The Museo Ibero (Iberian Museum) is located in Jaen city and is dedicated to the prehistoric Iberian culture of Spain. Intended to raise city's profile, on a regional, national and international level, it is the only museum celebrating this pre-Roman civilisation, and has the largest collection of Iberian art in the world.

Dating from the 1960s, this restaurant in El Ejido just inland from the Almeria coast, specializes in fabulous fresh fish caught locally, and the vegetables grown in the surrounding area. Chef Jose Alvarez cooks up such delights as millefeuille of El Ejido courgette, liver, boletus and mi-cui, and carpaccio of red prawns from Almeria with olives and extra virgin oil.
