Porra de Naranja

Porra is a thick cold soup that, like most cold soups or gazpachos (porras, ajoblancos, salmorejos catana, mazamorra, ardoria, pimentón, aguaíllo etc) is defined in the dictionary as ´A type of cold soup that is normally made with pieces of bread and oil, vinegar, salt, garlic, onion and other spices.´ It is a common mistake to think that gazpacho and porra al tomate are the same.

Bahia Dorada - Estepona districts

The Bahía Dorada urbanisation is located to the west of Arroyo Vaquero, and to the east of the Buenas Noches district. It is one single large urbanisation built on both sides of the A-7 coast road, giving either coastal or mountain views depending on the location.

History

Both the Phoenicians and Romans passed through this town, causing a chain exploitation of the resources of the area, which were later used by the Arabs. Under Roman occupation, it was known as Turaniana. Initially, this population was located in the Ribera de la Algaida.

La Malahá

Walk of the Thirsty Bear

This tremendously varied walk makes for a great full day excursion. Leaving the pretty village of La Iruela you first climb up past the Alberquilla spring before contouring round the northern flank of the Escribano.
