Torremolinos Beaches

There are six main beaches in Torremolinos: Los Alamos, Playamar, Bajondillo, La Carihuela, Montemar and El Saltillo. The 7 km main promenade has recently undergone improvements with additional landscaping and wider pavements. Now all the beaches are linked.

Yacht Insurance

Boating and water-based activities are extremely popular in Andalucia, and RD 607/1999 makes it obligatory for any motorized vessel to carry third-party liability insurance. The minimum limit for third-party liability indicated in this legislation is € 336,567, however, it's prudent to buy a much higher limit, in particular if you have a higher-value vessel.

Iglesia de San Martín

Today only the thin bell tower remains of this building, built in the sixteenth century. The rest of the primitive church, in Gothic style, was burned and destroyed during the Civil War in 1936.

Estepona Mural - Porticos del Cielo

Porticos del Cielo (platforms in the sky) is a mural by José Fernández Ríos. This work is of a building with a large window overlooking a forest. This 175 m2 trompe l'oeil plays with the architecture simulating the building is hollow and combining it with vegetation.

it is painted in the hyper-realistic style. Passers by may think that they are faced with a structure, a grove of trees and an intense blue sky.

Erosion Control Products

Vetiver is mainly used for controlling erosion as it traps sediment, slows down the flow of water, and allows you to channel the water to where you want it to go. When placed in an inlet where springs or runoff water feeds another body of water it slows down the runoff while filtering the incoming water.

Periana

To the north of the lake is the village of Periana, on the river Guaro which provides the reservoir with its water. The lush land and excellent climate provide perfect conditions for the lemon and orange groves and cultivation of other fruit trees, enhancing the beauty of the landscape even further.

Languages

Due to Gibraltar's unique geographical position, multi-culturalism reigns on this rock. The official language is English, but natives are typically bi-lingual, speaking Spanish as fluently as English. It is not unusual to hear the native Arabic of Gibraltar's other near neighbours as well, and Portuguese, Italian and Russian are not uncommon tongues in these parts either.

Castillo, Velez Blanco

Declared a National Monument in 1931, the imposing castle dominates the town’s skyline. Its construction began in 1506 by order of Pedro Fajardo, named Marquis of Los Vélez by the Catholic Monarchs
