Granada Airport - Bus Service

There are several departures a day for buses to the city centre. Operated by Autocares Gonzalez. There are about 10 buses a day to Granada city from the airport. The journey time is 45 minutes and the cost is 3 Euros.

Sierra de Hornachuelos

The Sierra de Hornachuelos extends for 60,032ha and is part of the vast 400,000ha Unesco Biosphere Reserve for the Sierra Morena mountain range, along with the natural parks of the adjacent Sierra Norte and the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche.

Parque de la Constitución

Parque de la Constitución, a large city park was built in the 1950´s just out of the town centre, minutes walk from the beach. It is especially tranquil and was once the garden of a private residence. Parque de la Constitución is one of the most visited parks in Marbella. The park has an amphitheatre that is ocassionally used for outdoor concerts and plays in the summer season, the anphitheatre is beautiful example of traditional Andalucian architecture.

EU Driving Licences

EU citizens are allowed to use their home country drivers' licenses while on holidays in Spain, residents have two options. Once you become a resident in Spain, you can head to your provincial traffic headquarters and apply for a new Spanish version (at a cost of 26 euros) or you can continue driving with your EU license.

Casa de las Torres

The house is a remarkable building that owes its name to the strong towers of its main façade, a great sample of Plateresque composition from the year 1520. Originally a medieval palace, built by Constable Ruy López Dávalos, it has undergone various changes in its construction over the centuries. /p>

Los Gallardos - History

The town finds its origin in the beginning of the mining operations of the Sierra Almagrera in the early nineteenth century, when there was a significant increase in the population of the area as it gradually became the most important of the Bédar jurisdiction, to which it belonged until August 1924.

Almuñecar is one of the most popular destinations on the sublime Costa Tropical and for good reason. You can find many hotels and apartments right on the beach, or alternatively you can venture more inland and enjoy mountainous views to get a feel for rural Andalucia.

Playa Rio Verde

Playa Rio Verde is just to the east of Puerto Banus, next to the Rio Verde itself; to access the beach from Puerto Banus you cross over the river on a stylish wooden footbridge where you can watch wader birds in the reeds of the river.

The tourist office of Fonelas is located in the Town Hall.

Manuel Torre

Manuel Soto Loreto was born in 1878 in Jerez de la Frontera, in the surroundings of the cattle ranches and vineyards where his parents worked. He would frequent the areas of the Barrio Santiago and San Miguelin Jerez, where he would absorb the flamenco styles of Enrique el Mellizo and other great masters of that era.

Hotels in Caños de Meca

Hotels in Caños de Meca are in abundance and not hard to find. Luckily, this small, unspoilt part of the Costa de la Luz has managed to avoid high-rise resort buildings and the hotels here are small and very well-kept.

Roman Lacipo, Casares

After one and a half kilometres west from Casares (MA-528) at the junction on the A-377 Manilva - Gaucin road a small track oposite can be seen. This was once the main route to Jimena de la Frontera and San Martin. Those who have no objection to a bumpy ride can still use it.

Pozo Alcón

Pozo Alcón belonged to the city of Úbeda until 1564, at which time it became part of Quesada, from which it later became independent in 1648 when Felipe IV granted it the title of Villa. One of its most beautiful places is the reservoir, where the locals go to cool off in the hottest months of the summer. It has about 4700 inhabitants.
