There is documented proof of human presence in Cazalilla dating as far back as the Copper Age (third millennium BC), indicated through both the ceramics of this period collected in its urban area and by the settlement of the Cerro de la Coronilla in the fortified farmhouse of La Atalaya.

Estepona Mural - Azul y Plata

‘Azul y Plata’ (Blue and Silver) was inaugurated in April 2014 and can be found on Avenida Libertad in the Barriada Blas Infante.

It depicts a seabed scene which includes sculptures of fish, jellyfish, sea urchins and seaweed made out of galvanised steel. The mural was created by the Moraga collective which is made up of inmates of the prison in Alhaurin de la Torre. It took 3 months to create and 3 weeks to put up. It is the first in the route to include a sculpture in the mural itself.

Vegetarian Restaurants

Spain used to be a vegetarian's nightmare with all those hanging hams and meaty tapas. Vegetarians had no option but to constantly opt for ensaladilla Rusa (the Russan-Spanish potato salad usually served as a tapa), tortilla (Spanish omelette), or the famous main course of huevos con patatas fritos (egg and chips), with the occasional greasy green pepper on the side.

Palacio de Ubeda

This romantic hotel in a converted Renaissance palace boasts an impressive façade with a famous tower, and equally beautiful interiors. The main patio has marble columns and a wooden first-floor balcony covered with a glass ceiling, and you can also see artesonado carved wood ceilings,making it one of the most importantbuildings architecturally in Jaen province.

Ermita de San Sebastián

The chapel houses a sculpture of the town’s patron saint, San Sebastián. It was built thanks to local donations. Construction of the eighteenth-century chapel was prompted by a plague that devastated the Lecrín Valley but spared Padul itself.

Shopping

Fuengirola has plenty to offer shoppers both in the old town and outside. In the old town centre, around the main square Plaza de la Constitucion, there are many designer clothes shops, interesting small boutiques. Choose from one of the many high street shops such as Zara, Benetton, Pull & Bear.

La Caleta de Vélez

La Caleta de Velez Marina is a médium size marina with capacity of 274 berths for vessels of 25 meters length and a maximum draft of 3.8 meters. All the berths have water and electricity points. The Puerto Deportivo de Caleta de Velez has a travel lift for boats up to 150 tonne to the hard standing area with full workshop and cleaning facilities.

Peña Flamenca El Yunque

A performance centre dedicated to flamenco dancing and singing. The centre regularly offers shows for the public and has even hosted flamenco festivals. Located on Calle Angustias.

Malaga Airport History

The history of the Málaga-Costa del Sol International Airport is a story well worth telling. And it all began with an intrepid French engineer and entrepreneur Pierre-Georges Latécoère, considered by many to be the trailblazer that eventually led to the creation of Air France.

Ponies and Players

The polo pony ranges from 14.2-16 hands (147-163cm) in height and is usually either thoroughbred or thoroughbred crosses. Polo ponies are selected carefully for their ability to move in quick bursts of speed, and their great stamina, agility and manoeuvrability. It is vital that the horse remains responsive under pressure and does not become excited or difficult to control.

The age of the Roman bridge of Fondales is unknown. However, its design appears to date back to the Islamic period of the 12th or 13th century.

Non-EU Driving Licences

EU citizens are allowed to use their home country drivers' licenses whilst a tourist in Spain. If you are living in Spain and use your home country drivers' licenses you may be asked to document your absence from Spain in the last six months or face a fine of 300 euros. If you are driving a vehicle you own on Spanish registration you must also carry some form of Spanish language license.

Iglesia de la Encarnación

The church was designed according to the Gothic lexicography of the early sixteenth century. Its plan consists of three naves, separated by cruciform pillars, covered with a Mudejar roof that, in the eighteenth century, was camouflaged with false ribbed vaults.
