Matalascañas

Matalascañas is a popular, modern resort, located in a beautiful area of extensive coastal dunes and sandy beaches. Despite the village's tasteless high-rise development, which is one of the worst along the Huelva stretch of the Costa de la Luz, Matalascañas has some redeeming features; namely, its beach and its proximity to the Parque Nacional de Donaña. It has about 780 inhabitants.

History of Tabernas

It is believed that the village’s name comes from Thabernax, named for the Greek legions, because it was the place where the troops were supplied in many inns or sales. Prehistoric settlements have been found, such as the town of Terrera Ventura (2850-1950 B.C), a Neolithic agro-pastoral and livestock settlement.

Añora

Añora offers many striking features, one of which is the typical casa de tira. There are many of these in the village centre alongside some of its other main features. The village has about 1,500 inhabitants.

Doctors in Andalucia

Doctors in Spain are regulated by the “Colegio de Médicos” (Medical College – an official body). Doctors throughout Andalucia, whether they are Spanish or foreign, should be able to prove that they are “colegiados”, or members of the Medical College. This is an all important criteria for ensuring that a doctor has proper qualifications, and especially to ensure that doctors from other countries are approved and regulated in this country.

Los Olivos recently underwent extensive renovation to bring the course back to its prime after 18 years of heavy usage. This included new irrigation systems, and a redefinition of greens to USGA standards.

Greens are smaller and many are elevated. The par-3 14th is the most spectacular hole with magnificent panoramic views from the raised tees. Mijas Golf is a hospitable club with a pay-as-you-play policy. There are regular competitions to keep everyone interested.

Nueva Carteya

Nueva Carteya produces an excellent olive oil with a Designation of Origin, which is well worth a try for "foodies". The village has around 5300 inhabitants.
