Alternative Telephone Operators

Although there are some regional and national fixed-line providers in Andalucia, the previously state owned monopoly, Telefónica, is still the main provider of the basic telephone line and is still the choice of almost 90% of users. Over recent years new companies have emerged, trying to bite into Telefónica’s hold on the market.

Albox

Albox is set amidst a stunning landscape of arid hills with olive groves, citrus fruit orchards and almond trees, and dramatic hills and valleys. Situated in the basin of the Almanzora River, Albox is bisected by one of the Almanzora’s tributaries, a mostly dry riverbed known as the Rambla, which is crossed by three bridges. The town has around 12,500 inhabitants.

La Cartuja de Granada

Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion - more commonly known as La Cartuja of Granada - is a monastery which once housed Carthusian monks. This monument is often overlooked by tourists in Granada, as it sits away from the main sites, but it is well worth a visit.

Sanlucar is divided into the older quarter, the Barrio Alto where most of the interesting sights can be seen, and the newer Barrio Bajo, closer to the river.

Forests of Andalucia

Andalucia has a magnificent variety of flora and fauna, thanks to its location between the African and European continents and between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic oceans. Not only that, but its topology and geology all contribute to the fact that it has the highest number of species of flora and trees in Europe.

Fauna

The animals found in the park are those typical of southern Spain. The park has one of the largest populations of mountain goat in Andalucia, together with the doe deer or corzo. Other species have been introduced, such as the muflon (Ovis musimon), the ancestor of our domestic sheep and another acorn-loving creature of the sierra.

Costalita - Estepona districts

Costalita is one of Estepona’s most eastern districts, located along the coastline. With easy access to the A-7, visitors are close to the centre of Estepona, Puerto Banús, and Marbella. The district runs alongside Villacana to the west and Salidillo to the east, extending from Seguridad Costalita to the west of Calle Sotavento.

Tivoli World, Amusement Park, Benalmadena

Tivoli World was the largest family entertainment theme park on the Costa del Sol. It is currenly closed. It is located in the heart of Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena.

Alto Guadalquivir Natural Area

The Alto Guadalquivir Natural Area comprises three reservoirs (embalses) covering 663ha, which are situated along the upper reaches of the Guadalquivir river. To the east is the largest one, the Embalse de Puente La Cerrada, in the middle is the Embalse de Doña Aldonza and to the west is the smallest reservoir, the Embalse de Pedro Martín.
