Bailén

Bailén is the perfect destination for history enthusiasts. The town was the site of an important turning point during the Battle of the Peninsular War. The annual commemorative celebrations for this event mean that July is the best time of year to pay a visit to the town.

El Cerro de Andévalo

El Cerro de Andévalo is located west of Minas de Río Tinto in the Andevalo region of Huelva province. The word cerro, means hill, and the village was named for its situation south of the hill. It has approximately 2500 inhabitants.

Berrocal

Berrocal is a charming village of approximately 400 inhabitants, located 305m above sea level in the eastern part of El Andévalo. The Rio Tinto river runs along the west side of Berrocal, between the mountains of Alabarderos, Sierra de Enmedio and Sierra de la Picota.

Alosno

Alosno is set in the heart of El Andevalo, 43km from Huelva. The district of Alosno covers an area of approximately 200,000km2 and consists of 4792 inhabitants spread between Tharsis and Alosno. It reaches up to El Cerro del Andevalo in the north, Gibraleon and Trigueros in the south, Puebla de Guzman to the west and Calañas to the east.

Walks from Aracena

West of Aracena is the GR 41.3 that runs all the way to La Nava taking in Los Marines, Fuenteheridos and Galaroza. This footpath goes past many groves of sweet chestnut trees, so it is a particularly beautiful walk to do in the autumn, when the changing colours of the chestnuts are spectacular.

La Palma del Condado

La Palma del Condado provides a traveller with many attractions both cultural and gastronomic during any season. The old part of town has been declared of cultural interest and the surrounding countryside is becoming ever more famous for their production of wine.

About La Axarquia

It's hard to believe that the wild beauty of the La Axarquía is just half an hour from the coast of Málaga's eastern Costa del Sol. These villages are as interesting as the better-known white villages to the west and inland from the more glitzy western Costa del Sol including the gateway of Marbella. Nerja, to be fair, is the jewel in the crown of this eastern stretch Costa del Sol coastline. It has maintained a certain old-fashioned charm with its magnificent palm-lined Balcón de Europa, justly famed as one of the most beautiful promenades on the Coast.

Via Verde of the Sierra de Baza

Via Verde Sierra de Baza follows the lower northern slopes of the Sierra de Baza. It lies just to the north and outside the Sierra de Baza natural park. The Via Verde Sierra de Baza is 9,4 km long and runs for a few km north and south of Baza town as far as the municipal limits with Zujar and Caniles.

former Velez-Malaga Tranvia

As you drive into Velez Malaga you may noticed tram line that connects the town with its coastal sister town in Torre del Mar. No need to slow down and look both ways before crossing. Construction began in 2003 of the 6km and 12 stations the southern phase between the two towns opened on 11 October 2006 at a cost of 46 million € and closed in 4th June 2012.

There are a number of privately operated heath clinics in Estepona for patients to go without referal as an alternative to the state health service.  The state run facility is called the 'Ambulatorio' and located on Avenida Juan Carlos, it has a 24hr emergency wing as well as the daytime medical appointment facilities.  The state hospital for Estepona is Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella.
