Benalmadena is a coastal resort on the popular Costa del Sol with great accessibility from Malaga Airport (19km) and a short drive from popular destinations like Marbella, Torremolinos and Fuengirola. The town is made up of two main parts, the busier Benalmadena on the coast and the more authentic Benalmadena pueblo or old town as it is also known.

Hotels in the seaside resort of Benaldamena on the Costa del Sol make the most of their superb locations, with many rooms offering fantastic sea views. Benalmádena Costa is one of the most cosmopolitan areas on the coast and famed for an abundance of British bars and restaurants. The heart of the resort is the extensively equipped Puerto Marina and here one will find dozens of restaurants and bars serving food from all corners of the world.

Benalmadena is known for its full calendar of all-year-round festivities and cultural celebrations, from organized art and sporting events to traditional and religious processions - all of which give life and vitality to this cosmopolitan town.

The Telecabina takes you on an amazing 15-minute journey in a four-person cable car right up to the highest point on the Málaga coast at an altitude of almost 800m above sea level. From this superb vantage point, you not only have the most magnificent views of the Costa del Sol, but also the awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains (white with snow in the winter months), the Guadalhorce Valley and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa.

Selwo Marina offers a new concept in family entertainment, bringing together sea life and the Amazon in an unusual but happy combination. The Marina is a complement to Selwo Adventure wildlife park in Estepona.

In this fabulous zoological garden overlooking the Mediterranean at 250m above sea level, you can see the majestic raptors spread their wings in flight under the supervision of multi-lingual expert handlers. There are displays throughout the day, giving each of the 160+ birds a turn.

Tivoli World is the largest family entertainment theme park on the Costa del Sol. It is in the heart of Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena and is easily to reach by car, train, bus or taxi. 

Ideal for families with young children who want a gentler up-close-with-nature experience, the Butterfly Park has over 1500 of the colourful little winged insects. The park is inside a Thai temple-style building; the blue tiles were actually made in Thailand.

There is no bus station in Benalmadena, however there is a main bus stop called Benalmar/Puerto Marina that has a ticket kiosk and serves the regional routes.The bus stop is located next to 24-Hour Square and near to the Benalmar shopping centre on Avenida Antonio Machado.

Situated just west of Malaga and Torremolinos, Benalmadena is a thriving resort which boasts a multitude of fabulous night clubs, discos and late night bars. Most of the larger are more raucous clubs are situated in the aptly named 24-hour Square on the coast road, and the rest are in the award- winning Marina itself.

Benalmadena Costa also has almost 10 kilometers of beach to chose from. From the quiet cove, to the family focused beaches with plenty of activities. The beaches are a mixture of man-made, golden sand and shingle, all are generally well maintained and clean.

The picturesque town of Arroyo de la Miel is one of the three districts that make up the town of Benalmádena. Situated between Benalmádena Pueblo and Benalmádena Costa, this lively town is full of winding backs streets and pretty plazas that adhere to the old village way of life.

This is a professional, state-of-the art gym with all the latest equipment and keen, highly qualified staff and instructors to help to get into shape and stay there. There is a free weights area as well as an excellent cardiovascular machines room.

Overlooking the sea, separating Arroyo de la Miel with Benalmadena Costa are the beautiful gardens of La Paloma Park which covers over 200,000 square meters with a central lake where you can see many different types of birds, which are well cared for in these very beautiful surroundings.

Benalmádena Pueblo is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Malaga. The town, which has retained the ambience of a sleepy white Andalusian village, is 280 meters above sea level. The old town is a maze of narrow, whitewashed cobble streets adorned with displays of coloured geraniums spilling out of wall-mounted plant pots.
