Alhambra Palace

The Almanzora railway path is 12 kilometres in length and runs along what used to be the Guadix-Almedricos railway line, between El Cargadero de los Canos, where the train collected minerals from Cable de Cabarga San Miguel, and the metal bridge over the Ramil ravine.

Cabildo Viejo

Cabildo Viejo is a fifteenth century building that has been used as a granary, town hall, prison and municipal government offices. The main entrance was made by Hernán Ruiz II in 1563, according to inscription. In addition to the date is the phrase "Verita de Terra Orta Est Justitia De Coela Prospexit".

History

In the distant past, around 2,500 BC, Cájar, along with the rest of the neighbouring municipalities in the region, participated in the so-called ‘Argaric Culture’ in the Bronze Age.

River Andarax Valley

The River Andarax flows into the Mediterranean sea at the city of Almeria. Inland from Almeria city there are a number of villages that occupy land on the flatter and fertile soil that is not found in the surrounding mountains. Most of the village which are grouped within the Comarca of Cabo de Gata are of little interest to tourists, however Los Millares is Europe´s largest Bronze Age settlement.

Fábrica de Orujo

It is one of only three oil factories built at the beginning of the last century that are still standing in a satisfactory state of preservation today. The factory was owned by Pepe Martín and Ignacio Ferrer. The chimney stands as a symbol of the past.
