Dama de Noche Golf Course

This course was for the true golfing addicts and insomniacs: a 24-hour golfing paradise, the first in Europe. It took its name from the plant whose intoxicating nocturnal fragrance keeps some of the mosquitoes away. The lighting was system is designed to cast no shadows thus giving daylight quality and maximum visibility.

Countryside walks around Cabra

Cabra is part of the Sierras de Subbéticas Natural Park, which makes this area ideal for "active tourism" and adventure tourism. In fact, the highest point in the Sierra de Cabra mountain range has been designated an official view point and is known by many as "Andalucia's Balcony".

Laroya

Laroya is filled with beautiful, traditional architecture that has remained unaffected by modern construction over the years. It has around 170 inhabitants. It is thought that the name of Laroya comes from an Arabic term meaning “casserole” or “pot”, due to the town’s situation nestled between mountains. Its history dates back to the Al-Andalus period.

Priego de Cordoba

Priego de Córdoba is a prosperous olive-farming town standing on a plateau, overlooking the rolling hills of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, and is famous for its Baroque churches, in which convoluted patterns are elegantly incised into the stone façades. It has around 22, 500 inhabitants.

Baviera Golf

This course is situated in the foothills of the Sierra de la Almijara and has lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The first nine holes are mainly flat with large bermuda fairways and large sloping and curved greens. Lakes affect a large part of the course.

Festivals in Rágol are Cabalgata de Reyes Magos, Día de Andalucía, Semana Santa and Fiestas en Honor al Patron San Aguapito.

Berja

Once famous for its lead mines, Berja now offers visitors an abundance of historic and artistic heritage, and is an ideal destination for hiking enthusiasts and those seeking sun and beaches. It has about 12,400 inhabitants. Berja is thought to be of Iberian origin. Its Roman heritage is more assured, having been the Vergis of Roman Betica.

La Rabída

Seven kilometres south of Huelva city where the Tinto and Odiel rivers meet is an area known as La Rabida in which is located the 15th-century Franciscan Monasterio de Santa María de la Rábida. If you're interested in Christopher Columbus, this is one of three places to visit around Huelva. The other two are the nearby town of Palos de la Frontera.

Theatres

Andalucia has a long and proud legacy of live theatre. Many towns and cities have amateur groups that perform at special times of year like Semana Santa or during the Carnival celebrations in Cadiz. Other theatres function year-round, holding plays and musical events.

Kaymer finds renewed confidence ahead of Valderrama test

Seville City Centre

This area is between Plaza de Encarnacion and Plaza Nueva, and its main attraction is the shopping zone around calles Sierpes, Cuna and Velazquez/Tetuan. Come here to find excellent quality Spanish-made leather shoes, boots and bags, as well as the traditional fans and embroidered shawls - or just do as the locals do, and walk around browsing and discussing, before stopping for a coffee. Zara and Mango abound; other fashion chains include Blanco, Pull & Bear and Sfera.
